Bangkok Bound!

Although I have lived in Asia most of my life, it remains sadly unexplored by me. It seems that looking too far and wide for adventure, I failed to realize that I am sitting smack dab in the continent that invented exotic! (well, in my humble opinion at least...) One day I found myself staring blankly at a friend (from the states) when she asked me if I had been to Thailand. And Indonesia. And China. Um, no.

But you live in Asiaaaa!

Why indeed had I not looked to my friendly neighbors that were just a short plane-hop away? I was/am surrounded by a giant hot pot of history, culture, mystery, and magic...intense flavors that can make you weep and sing at the same time...gorgeous scenery from lush tropical forests to gorgeous beaches...not to mention hordes of beautiful and charming people (take a bow guys!) :)

Since then I have been dreaming of Asia.

Tomorrow part of that dream is finally coming true...Bangkok here I come! I hope you are ready :)

(I'll be back next week so we'll be silent over here for a bit...but until then Happy Halloween!!!)

WOOHOO!!! I'm so excited for you! I have this picture of you in my head with your face pressed against the airplane window, practically jumping out of your seat...then, as the plane hits the tarmac, you WHOOOSH OUT and zoom straight to the street food vendors! :-D

Have a fantastic time, Joey!

Ohhhh, how exciting!
Why is it that we tend not to explore our own backyards (so to speak...)?
Have a wonderful trip and take lots of photos for the rest of us!

Have a brilliant time! Katiez is 100% right we don't seem to explore what's on our doorstep, so good for you for changing that.

Hi all! I am back! Bangkok was a BLAST!!! I had so much fun and ate much more that I should have...I am currently on yogurt and cereal detox but I don't regret one single chili! :) I am currently catching up at work but hope to have some photos up soon!

Katrina: You pictured right :) That is exactly how I felt!

Nabeela: Photos up soon I hope :)

Katiez/Amanda: Yup...I guess things lose their "mystique" when they are too close or accessible -- but I'm definitely changing my perspective on that! :)

Jen: It was fantastic! Sayang I didn't get to meet up with Didi...I'm sure she had a blast too :) And yes, my suitcase was empty when I went...hahaha! :)

Tanna: I definitely cannot complain about my "backyard" :) Lot's to discover! But I'm sure everyone's backyard has their fair share of treasures :)
