Some days your mornings look like this. Or this.
Some days you can barely scrape together three things before hurling yourself into the mêlée.
Yogurt + jam + nuts. Fast and easy doesn't have to mean mediocre and hyper-processed-for-your-convenience. Thick and creamy Greek-style yogurt from a local dairy farm, artisan mango jam (also local), and some of your favorite nuts (aside from this one).
Guess which day today is?

Well, at least this breakfast makes one of those crappy days that much better :)
This is a sure-fire way to start the day off with a smile, Joey. One of my favorites is yogurt with raspberry jams and toasted oats. Mmmm....
Hi. Where can you find greek style yogurt in Manila?
Hi Maggie! Very true! Which is why it's important to always have good breakfasts :)
Hi Susan! Sounds yummy!
Hi Anonymous! I buy mine from Rizal Dairy Farms :) You can find them in Salcedo Saturday Market or in the market area of Market! Market! beside the big stall that sells all the rice. They have other kinds of yogurt as well but their Greek yogurt is hands down my favorite :)
Hi, Joey. I've tried fig preserves and pistachios with Greek yogurt - just plain dreamy! :)
nice picture! i made something similar but with oatmeal, yogurt and dried fruits. http://www.shootfirsteatlater.com/2009/02/oats-and-me.html
Healthy and totally delicious!
Cheers,
Rosa
Days like these aren't so bad! A great way to start the day! My day today started with a wholegrain roll and some lemon curd!
I am so neglectful of breakfast, usually just grabbing a sad bowl of cold cereal. My taste buds don't generally kick in until after my first gallon of coffee.
Lovely photo.
Yeah, but those parfaits are also quite the indulgence, no matter how quick they are to put together :) And of course the mango jam is local! I wouldn't trust any other country to make it! ;)
This would be a great way to start the day, I've had sorrier breakfasts of late. The hearty provincial breakfast shot from Bacolod on MM's blog reminds me how long it's been since I've had a breakfast of champions.
Joey, you are so creative with your breakfast. I have soy bean milk for breakfast here in the US. :(
If I were in Penang, then I had a problem choosing which breakfast to have. LOL.
Hi Midge! I love fig preserves too...yummy!
Hi Leslie! Oooh...I will check that out! :)
Hi Rosa! Yup :)
Hi Meeta! Yes true...although this breakfast is fast (no pun intended!) it is actually one of my favourites!
Hi Erin! Thank you :) My gallon of coffee was not in the photo but it was definitely there for breakfast!
Hi Manggy! Haha! True! Can’t imagine buying mango jam anywhere else! This one’s made by a family of a friend...my granny and dad also makes their own and so do I sometimes :)
Hi M! I haven’t had a proper breakfast with meat and eggs and sinangag in ages!
Hi Bee! I have to make it to Penang one of these days for those breakfasts and more! When work permits!
For a thrown-together breakfast it sure looks delicious! Hope the big bad world wasn't too harsh on you that day.
this looks delicious!
what's the difference between greek style yogurt and the regular yogurt we see in the supermarkets?
It looks very tempting and with endless possibilities.
The most important meal of the day. It amazes me how many people do not eat a good, healthy breakfast!
Hi Ari! The breakfast was delicious! And the day wasn’t too bad :) Extremely busy...but not bad! :)
Hi bebe de sucre! Greek yogurt or Greek-style (as we are technically not in Greece, hehe) is thicker and richer than regular yogurt...and more delicious!
Hi Pia! Yes, you can mix and match to your heart’s content!
Hi Drew! I love breakfast and always try to have a good one...although I must admit not all healthy! Heehee :)
Always a great way to start the day! I totally love greek yogurt. It's one of the best... :)
Mango jam!!! I can be fearless for any lousy day!
Jo, this breakfast is one of the best!
Yogurt with mango jam sounds really good! I have been having cottage cheese with jam with breakfasts lately.
Hi Junglefrog! It really is! :)
Hi Gattina! Yes, mango jam is really all that :) One of my favourites!
Hi Kevin! I like cottage cheese too...yummy with jam :)
it's a yummy day :)
Hi Shalum! It was...and continues to be so with these breakfasts :)
Ooooh, I just made blood orange marmalade and it would be perfect with some yogurt. Thanks so much for the idea. :)
Hi Lyb! Blood orange marmalade! Sounds so good! I've never even tried blood orange before...siiiiigh!
What an enticing picture!
