Was blessed with a trip back "home" and went to an open market only to find huge boxes of these wonderful mushrooms for sale. Why is it so hard to find these delicacies in this huge country. No supermarket in the state of Oklahoma ever carries them. Yes, chanterelles...QUEEN of the forest as they say and when I go pick them with my friend, I quickly saute them, add a bit of chicken stock and freeze in zip plock bags. I prefer to store them this way than dehydrate them. I don't like the texture of the rehydrated ones. The frozen ones in chicken stock tastes way better.
